  • Chasing the Moon

    Chasing the Moon

Tonight I rode in the pitch black for the first time. Just me, two wheels, rural roads and a moon so bright it felt like I was chasing it. Sometimes healing isn’t a breakthrough. Sometimes it’s an ordinary evening, children safe at home, an open road and the realisation that you’ve finally built somewhere peaceful…

What is the bravest thing I have ever done when no one was watching? My answer is simple. I kept going. Through trauma, diagnosis, and post-separation abuse. Through every hard day and every trigger. I kept supporting my children. I studied and passed with distinction. I built and learned and grew. Post-traumatic growth is real.…

A note on identity

NAAVoices was originally founded under a pseudonym to protect my identity. With time and healing I have come to realise that reducing stigma does not come from staying hidden — it comes from openness. Domestic abuse, mental health difficulties, and the need for advocacy happen to people from every walk of life. Speaking openly is an important part of normalising these conversations so that others feel safe to do the same.
