Complete Guide to NCC1 Form

What Is the NCC1 Form?

The NCC1 form is used by the National Centre for Domestic Violence (NCDV) to apply for emergency protective court orders. NCDV caseworkers help you complete it over the phone – it’s completely FREE.

📝 Section 1: Your Personal Details

Information you’ll need to provide:

  • Your full name (including maiden name if applicable)
  • Date of birth
  • Current address (can be refuge, friend’s house, or temporary accommodation)
  • Contact number (safe number the abuser doesn’t know)
  • Children’s details – names, dates of birth, where they’re living

⚠️ Safety First:

  • Use safe address abuser doesn’t know
  • Use phone number they can’t access
  • Tell NCDV if you need extra confidentiality measures
📝 Section 3: History of Abuse (MOST IMPORTANT)

⚠️ THIS IS THE MOST CRITICAL SECTION

The more detail you provide, the stronger your case. Include specific incidents with dates and impact.

What to Include:

  • Specific incidents with dates, times, locations
  • Exactly what happened – what they said, what they did
  • Any injuries you sustained
  • Police involvement (crime reference numbers)
  • Impact on you and your children
  • Why you fear further harm

✓ Tips for This Section:

  • Start with most recent incidents and work backwards
  • Include 3-5 detailed incidents (more if possible)
  • Use specific language – “he punched me” not “he was violent”
  • Don’t minimise – if it scared you, say so
  • NCDV caseworker will help you articulate everything clearly
